What You Would Get To Do:
The FIRST New York office is looking for a Motion Graphics Intern to join our team. You will be reporting into the Senior Video Designer. You will be working alongside the Creative Studio Director, Video Producer, and larger Event & Experience team. We work globally and there will be requirements to work across regions. Our solutions come in many forms but can be grouped into the following categories:
- Conferences, experiential event & product launches
- Virtual events and video series
- Brand experiences and event theme campaigns
- Digital & multimedia campaigns
Your contributions
- Assist the Senior Video Designer in the creation of motion graphics, animations, and video content for live and virtual events, social media campaigns, and digital media
- Collaborate closely with the Creative Studio Director and Video Producer on motion graphic inspiration, music selection, and stock imagery sourcing
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute fresh ideas for visual storytelling and animation techniques
- Work with graphic designers to create and animate lower thirds, title cards, transitions, and other graphic elements
- Support the internal marketing team by building from a creative brief, contributing to internal work and award-winning case studies
- Assist with editing video footage and integrating motion graphics into video projects.
- Maintain project files, asset libraries, and ensure proper organization of all creative materials
- Work collaboratively with areas of the business, including both creative and technical production teams
- Research potential AI use cases for video creation
- Stay up-to-date with current design trends, animation techniques, and industry software
- Take and apply feedback from creative leads to refine animations and graphics
- Help prepare deliverables for internal reviews, client approvals, and final distribution
- Bring enthusiasm, inspiration and fresh ideas to the team, and flexibility and adaptability while working with global teams across multiple time zones

- Working towards a degree in Video Production, Post Production, Motion Graphic Design or a related field
- Can work in Adobe Creative Cloud; After Effects a must
- Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and Illustrator knowledge a plus
- Interest in emerging AI tools and technologies
- Understanding / interest of post production workflow
- Understanding / interest of video output specs; such as codecs, compression, frame rates, etc
- Essential time management skills to ensure timely completion of design projects
- Demonstrate initiative and ability to work both independently and in a team
United States Residents: The base pay for this position is $20 - 25/hour.
